Paloma OLeary Releases Evocative Siren Song

Rising Latina pop artist Paloma O’Leary introduces her debut EP, Siren Song, a five-track collection of songs fusing oceanic flavors with flamenco-laced melodies.

Paloma explains, “I wanted to create this EP to combine two loves—music and water. Water is such a powerful force and like love, it can completely overwhelm you. We have to take care of it, whether that’s someone you love or a close friendship. When we abuse the ocean, it suffers and when we are mistreated, we have to learn to take our power back.”

Produced by Ali Stone and BAT Studios, Siren Song reveals an emotional journey of love, loss, and empowerment and pays tribute to Paloma’s Latina roots inspired by Alejandro Sanz and Shakira.

A staunch advocate for ocean conservation, climate change and education, Paloma actively pursues her passion for a better world, volunteering for Shakira’s Pies Descalzos Foundation in Colombia, interning at the University of Maryland’s Center for Environmental Science, and hosting ocean conservation groups for student lectures.

Paloma was recently invited to sing the national anthem at the Wizards vs. Knicks basketball game at CapOne arena, as well as DC United at Audi Field in 2021.

The EP begins with the title track, opening on shimmering tones from a graceful piano riding a low-slung rhythm. Paloma’s warm, evocative voice imbues the lyrics with subtle nuances as glittering strings fill the tune with gentle hues.

Highlights include “Another Fish in the Sea,” traveling on aquatic sounds, and a gleaming acoustic guitar. When the rhythm enters, the song takes on hints of Latin-lite tangs as Paloma’s vibrant timbres give the lyrics alluring essence.

“An Ocean Away” features Latin-laced leitmotifs, a syncopated rhythm, and the exquisite vocals of Paloma, injecting the lyrics with zesty sonic momentum. This track is perhaps the best on the EP.

With Siren Song, Paloma O’Leary displays her lush vocals, luscious harmonic suffusions, and dazzling, attention-grabbing rhythms.
