Katie Price launches petition to criminalise trolls after son is a target for online bullying.

Katie Price is known as a glamour model, an entrepreneur, a reality TV star, a TV talk show host and a singer. But before everything, her greatest accolade is being a mother. Katie is mother to Harvey (14) Junior (11) Princess (9) Jett (3) and Bunny (2).

Katie’s first born child Harvey has the rare genetic disorder ‘Prader-Willi Syndrome’. This effects Harvey in many physical and behavioural ways.

Harvey has limited sight, he is on the Autistic spectrum and has learning difficulties. Katie has been extremely forward with the public about life with Harvey and his disabilities.

She has done many TV appearances and writing about the highs and lows of caring for his needs.

Unfortunately, Harvey has been the subject of online bullying.

Anonymous trolls have created horrific memes, made cruel jokes as well as targeted abuse towards the teen. The outspoken former glamour model has taken a stand for her son and has now raised a petition to ‘make online abuse a specific criminal offence and create a register of offenders’.

The petition needs 100,000 signatures so it can be brought to parliament to be considered however at present within just five hours she is already at 15,000 signatures. Celeb pal Michelle Visage has asked her Twitter followers to sign the petition also.

Katie is determined to make a difference not just for Harvey but for everyone subjected to online bullying.

The petition reads: “Trolling is a major problem in this day and age. People of all ages and background suffer every day, including my family – especially my son Harvey.

“I have tried my best to expose people and even had two arrested but nothing was done and there were no repercussions or penalties for this behaviour. This does not affect just high profile people it affects everyone from every walk of life from young children, teenagers, people at work, husbands and wives.

“This abuse includes racism, homophobia, body shaming and a whole range of other hate speech. This petition is an important topical issue and I want it to help bring justice to everyone who has ever suffered at the hands of trolls.

“Help me to hammer home worldwide that bullying is unacceptable whether it’s face to face or in an online space.”
