    Digga D Facts

  • He was heavily influenced by Jamaican reggae and dancehall music genres in his childhood and had started writing his music by the age of 12.
  • In 2015, he had formed the UK drill group 1011 with his friends at a local youth club in Ladbroke Grove. The group was named after the W10 and W11 postal codes, a part of the W (Western and Paddington) postcode area, also known as the London W postcode area. The group had released several singles in 2016.
  • In November 2017, he and a few members of 1011 were arrested in a ‘stop and search’ operation by local cops. They were allegedly carrying machetes and baseball bats which the police felt were to be used to attack a rival gang. Members of 1011 had insisted that they were only using those as props for the shooting of a music video.
  • The arrested members were later convicted of conspiracy to commit violent disorder and sentenced to a year in jail. In 2018, they were given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO), an order to the offender issued by a judge in England and Wales, at the request of the prosecution, under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. Consequently, 4 music videos of the group were taken down from social platforms.
  • Those videos had already amassed more than 10 million combined views and were soon uploaded by fans to their channels. The group had then rebranded as CGM, an acronym for ‘Cherish God More’.
  • Digga D was still in jail when his debut mixtape, titled Double Tap Diaries, was released in May 2019. The music video of a track from that mixtape, titled No Diet, had amassed 1.6 million views in 5 days.
  • In November 2017, a freestyle for Mixtape Madness‘s (a British urban music outlet and an entertainment and distribution platform) Next Up? program performed by Digga D was released. The freestyle was certified ‘Silver’ by the BPI (British Phonographic Industry), becoming the first Mixtape Madness freestyle to achieve certification.
